Executive Education Program for Young Political Leaders (2021-2024)

As Faculty Chair of Golkar Institute, Mulya was in charge of this program, producing 650+ alumni during that period. Of whom, 200+ became legislative candidates, and 63 were elected as legislative members in the 2024 Elections.

The “Executive Education Program for Young Political Leaders” is a week-long training program conducted by Golkar Institute in Jakarta every 2-3 months. The curriculum is based on three main pillars: economics, politics, and leadership.

Between April 2021 and December 2024, this open-enrollment program has been conducted 17 times, with each batch having 40 participants. During this period the program produced 650+ alumni, with 200+ of whom ran in the 2024 legislative and local elections. Out of which, 63 were elected as legislative members: at the national level (1 person), province level (12 persons) and local level (50 persons).

The program is open to the public and not exclusive for politicians or Golkar Party members. We reach out to Indonesia’s most promising current and future young politicians. A scholarship system ensures that at least 30% of the participants are women and those from remote or disadvantaged areas. Packard Foundation supports some of the scholarships and lecture sessions, especially those related to environmental sustainability.

Golkar Institute aims to increase the capacity of Indonesia’s young politicians so that they have the characteristics of transformational leaders, the technical skills to analyze, formulate, and implement sound public policies, as well as characters of integrity, a competitive work ethic, a global mindset, and innovativeness in the application of the latest science and technology
