
Competitiveness Studies of Asia's Subnational Economies (2011-2017)
As Deputy Director/Research Fellow (and previously Research Associate), Mulya was in charge of ensuring research quality, and he was the lead researcher for ACI’s annual competitiveness analysis of Indonesian provinces.
The Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, conducted detailed annual competitiveness studies of ASEAN countries and the subnational economies of Indonesia, Greater China, and Greater India.
Mulya held a key role in this project as Research Fellow & Deputy Director (January 2016 – January 2018) and Research Associate while he was doing his Ph.D. studies (October 2011 – December 2015). He led multiple teams of researchers from project inception to publication, and was the lead researcher for ACI’s annual competitiveness analysis of Indonesian provinces.
As part of the project, Mulya co-organized 10+ large-scale international conferences, each with high-level keynote speakers and hundreds of overseas participants. He also delivered trainings and presentations, established collaborations and memoranda of understanding with key government agencies and business associations throughout Asia.
Results of these studies were published in 8 books and 6 journal articles.
